Neck
Neck pain care for the way Boise actually works
Laptop tilt, winter driving, and a stiff turn to check the merge lane. Cervical care that starts with what your week looks like.
The neck that never leaves the laptop
Southeast Boise professionals spend hours with the chin forward and the shoulders up. By Thursday the base of the skull aches. By Sunday checking a blind spot on I-84 feels like turning a rusty hinge.
Dr. Rae treats neck pain as a motion problem first. Which cervical segments stop rotating. Which upper-back joints refuse to share the load. Which muscles stay switched on because the joints underneath them will not move cleanly.
Patients often arrive after massage that felt good for a day. Soft tissue work helps. It lasts longer when the joints that feed the tension can move again.

Cervical evaluation at Rae Chiropractic
How a neck visit runs
You walk through when the pain spikes: screens, sleep position, long drives to Meridian, looking up at a shelf. Dr. Rae examines the cervical spine and the thoracic segments that support it.
He explains what he finds before any adjustment. You should leave the room knowing which levels were restricted and what the next visit is meant to change. No mystery crack, no vague promise.
Home guidance is short and specific. Chin position at the desk. Pillow height. How far to push mobility work between appointments. The point is fewer flares, not a binder of exercises you will ignore.
When neck pain brings a headache
Plenty of headache days start in the neck. If your temples or the base of your skull light up after long screen blocks, say so. Dr. Rae will check whether cervical mechanics are part of that pattern and treat what the exam supports.
If the headache story sounds vascular, neurologic, or unlike a mechanical case, he will say that out loud. Chiropractic is the right tool for some neck-related headaches. It is the wrong first tool for others.
